This is a one and half year course. The objective is to equip students with skills and knowledge in disaster types and behaviours, be able to prepare, counsel, manage and monitor disasters very closely. At the end of the course, students are expected to be skilled and knowledgeable in the following areas:

DMM 1408: Introduction to Counseling Skills
DMM 1409: Principles of Disaster Management
DMM 1410: Participatory Assessment, Monitoring and Evaluation
DMM 1411: Legal Issues in Disaster Mitigation and Management
DMM 1412: Occupational Safety and Health.
DMM 1413: Water & Sanitation in Emergencies
DMM 1414: Resource Mobilization, Management & Fundraising
DMM 1415: Research Project

Fees 2009
  • Passed relevant Craft certificate.
  • Minimum qualifications are KCSE C- or KCE Div. 2 or the equivalent
