This is a one year course, whose objective is to equip students with knowledge, skills and attitudes that will enable them assist the Communities to realize that leadership has been recognized as central in determining the success or failure of organizations.


The following modules/units will be covered;

SEMESTER ONE
CLS 3701:       English
CLS 3702:       Communication Skills and ICT
CLS 3703:       Introduction to Community Development..
CLS 3704:       Introduction to leadership skills
CLS 3705:       Participatory Leadership
CLS 3706:       Social Research Methods.
CLS 3707:       Community capacity Building, Advocacy and lobbying.

SEMESTER TWO
CLS 3708:       Development economics
CLS 3709:       Law and Leadership
CLS 3710:       Introduction to Finance Management and accounting
CLS 37011:     Fundamentals of Resource Mobilization and Management, Fundraising and
                          proposal writing.
CLS 3712:       Strategy in Leadership development.
CLS 3713:       Research Project.
CLS 3714:       Field practicum



•  Minimum qualifications are KCSE D+ or KCE Div. 3 or the equivalent
•  Course open to Beginners, Community development workers, Welfare officers and
   Fresh students
