This is a one and half year course and the objective is to enable students appreciate the roles and responsibilities played by women in the development process.


At the end of the course, students should be skilled and knowledgeable in the following modules/units:

GIWEP 1507:  Human Growth and Development

SEMESTER TWO
GIWEP 1508: Statistics
GIWEP 1509: Counseling Skills
GIWEP 1510: Family, Women and Child Welfare
GIWEP 1511: Development Economics
GIWEP 1512: Community Capacity building, advocacy and lobbying
GIWEP 1513: Monitoring and Evaluation of Gender Activities
GIWEP 1514: Women in Development Projects

SEMESTER THREE
GIWEP 1515: Community Based Organizations
GIWEP: 1516: Women and Education in Kenya
GIWEP: 1517:  Project Paper
GIWEP: 1518:  Practicum


• Minimum qualifications are KCSE C- or KCE Div. 2
• Certificate in Community development, Social development, Social work, Community   Health, Counseling and Psychology.
• Course open to Beginners, Development facilitators, Project managers and Fresh students
