CCH 3300: CERTIFICATE IN COMMUNITY HEALTH


This is a one year course, whose objective is to equip students with knowledge, skills and attitudes that will enable them to appreciate the relationship between knowledge and values to health problems and produce Community Health workers who can appreciate the roles of other professionals and involve them in the search for solutions to Health problems.

CCH 3301:     English Language
CCH 3302:     Communication Skills
CCH 3303:     Information Communication Technology
CCH 3304:     Introduction To Community Development.
CCH 3305:     Introduction To Community Health.
CCH 3306:     Social Research Methods.
CCH 3307:     Health Education
CCH 3308:     Nutrition And Dietetics.

SEMESTER TWO

CCH 3309:     Communicable Diseases.
CCH 3310:     Environment And Health
CCH 3311:     Law In Community Health.
CCH 3312:     Basic Microbiology & Parasitology.
CCH 3313:     Community Health Techniques.
CCH 3314:     Counselling Skills.
CCH 3316:     Field Practicum And Report
CCH 3315:     Project (Not Teachable In Class; Supervisory Unit)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum qualifications are KCSE D or KCE Div. 2 or the equivalent
  • Course open to Beginners, Community development workers, Welfare officers and Fresh students
