CPSY 3200: CERTIFICATE IN PSYCHOLOGY


This is a one-year course, whose objective is to equip students with the basic psychology knowledge, skills, attitudes and experiences that will enable them to understand fully the behaviour patterns of different people for the purposes of intervening appropriately.  The following units will be covered:

 CPSY 3201:         English Language
CPSY 3202:         Communication Skills And Ict
CPSY 3203:         Information Communication Technology
CPSY 3204:         Introduction To Psychology.
CPSY 3205:         Perspectives In Psychology & Biological Bases Of Behaviour
CPSY 3206:         Social Research Methods.
CPSY 3207:         Introduction To Bio-Psychology As A Theoretical Approach.
CPSY 3208:         Ethics In Psychology

SEMESTER II UNITS

CPSY 3209:         Human Growth And Development.
CPSY 3210:         Sociology
CPSY 3212:         Cognitive Psychology.
CPSY 3213:         Social Psychology.
CPSY 3214:         Psychology Of Personality
CPSY 3215:         Project (Not Teachable In Class; Supervisory Unit)
CPSY 3216:         Practicum.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum qualifications are KCSE D or KCE Div. 2 or the equivalent
  • Course open to Beginners, Community development workers, Welfare officers and Fresh students
