This is a one and half year course, whose objective is to equip Social Development work trainees with the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitudes and experiences that, will enable them to participate effectively in implementation of National social development policies. The following units will be covered in Semester I & II respectively.

CCD 3504:      Introduction to Community Development
CCD 3505:      Management of Community Concerns
CCD 3506:      Social Research Methods
CCD 3507:      Community Health Education
CCD 3508:      Project Development and Management

SEMESTER II

CCD 3509:      Community Leadership
CCD 3510:      Community Based Organizations (CBO)
CCD 3511:      Law in Community Development
CCD 3512:      Advocacy and Lobbying
CCD 3134:      Management and Administration
CCD 3514:      Resource Mobilization and Fundraising
CCD 3515:      Project (Not Teachable In Class; Supervisory Unit)
CCD 3516:      Field Practicum/Report

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum qualifications are KCSE D plain or KCE Div. 2
•  Course open to Beginners, Community development workers, Welfare officers and Fresh students
