DIPLOMA IN POVERTY, RELIEF AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT


This is a two and a half years course and aims at equipping students with skills in poverty eradication, how to handle various forms of relief, its management and food for work. At the end of the course, students are expected to be skilled and knowledgeable in the following areas:

PRSD 1706:   Food For Work
PRSD 1707:   Poverty In Kenya.
PRSD 1708:   Office Administration And Management

SEMESTER II UNITS

PRSD 1709:   Social Research Methods.
PRSD 1710:   Resource Mobilization And Fundraising
PRSD 1711:   Participatory Poverty Assessment.
PRSD17 12:   Basic Mathematics
PRSD 1713:   Logistics.
PRSD 1714:   Statistics
PRSD 1715:   Legal Aspects In Poverty Relief
PRSD 1716:   Project (Total Supervisory Unit)

SEMESTER III UNITS

PRSD1717:    Participatory Assessment, Monitoring & Evaluation.
PRSD 1718:   Relief Distribution & Management.
PRSD 1722:   Food Security.
PRSD 1719:   Economics
PRSD 1720:   Practicum

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum qualifications are KCSE C- or KCE Div. 2 or the equivalent
  • Certificate in Community development, Social development, Social work, Community Health, Counseling and Psychology.
  • Course open to Beginners, Development workers, Social workers, Project managers and Fresh students
